Aurevia wins Rep. Lauren Boebert’s 2025 Congressional App Challenge in Colorado’s Fourth District

Rep. Lauren Boebert has named Aarav Dwivedi, Gabriel Teller, Nathan Samuel, and Reyhan Ramrakhyani of Mountain Vista High School as the winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge in Colorado’s Fourth District. Their app Aurevia educates users on effective financial habits through gamification and budgeting modules.

When asked what inspired the creation of Aurevia, the students said, “Ever since our freshman year of high school, we noticed a major problem within not only our school but also within the entirety of the school system. There is not nearly enough emphasis on finance or economics within schools. As students who have been interested in economics, we’ve realized through our research and experience that finance plays a huge role in everyone’s lives. The fact of the matter is, everyone will have to handle money one time or another in their life. During our sophomore year, we got the chance to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim for FBLA Nationals after winning 1st at states on a presentation about financial literacy within high school students. Also, with college at the highest price it’s ever cost, combined with the progressively increasing rate at which students enroll in college, we thought that creating a place for our peers to learn about how to manage their future was absolutely integral.

“We saw a problem, but we also saw a solution to our school’s declining financial literacy rate. Ever since then, we’ve been on a mission to inform our community on making smart financial decisions. We’ve started a club that has grown from the starting 5 members to a now super astounding community of 40+ people. This club builds a sense of community for students by doing community service events as a club. We want to educate our peers, but we want to make sure they feel welcomed into a friendly community. Our club has several events a year, such a going to a stock simulator field trip in the Denver Area, and hosting a paper trading competition of our own, which lasts over the course of the entire year. We’ve reached out to several mentors, such as Charles Schwab, Colorado Senator John Carson, and a Denver University business department professor, who teach and our peers more about making smart financial decisions.  Through our meeting with Senator John Carson, we heard about this competition and decided it was the next step in our mission. We believe we have created something unique and special with our app.”

The 2025 Congressional App Challenge marked another record-setting year for the program. A total of 394 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives hosted App Challenges in their congressional districts, the highest level of participation in the program’s history. More than 13,800 students from across the country participated, submitting over 4,600 original apps focused on real-world challenges ranging from health and accessibility to education, sustainability, and civic engagement.

The Congressional App Challenge is an official initiative of the U.S. House of Representatives that encourages middle school and high school students to learn to code, explore computer science, and build practical technology solutions for their communities. Each participating Member of Congress selects a winning app from their district, and winning teams are invited to showcase their projects to Members of Congress, staff, and industry leaders at the annual #HouseOfCode celebration on Capitol Hill.

The Challenge is proudly bipartisan and reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to STEM education and preparing the next generation of American innovators for the future workforce. The program is a public-private partnership made possible through funding from the Broadcom Foundation, AWS, Infosys Foundation USA, theCoderSchool, Apple, and others.

The 2026 Congressional App Challenge will launch in May, and eligible students can pre-register for the competition now.
