Why Attend Build the Challenge 2026?

  At each Build the Challenge event, students will build inside Roblox Studio, customize and test their own experience, and develop an idea they can turn into a submission for the 2026 Congressional App Challenge.

• Calling All Middle and High School Students

  Build the Challenge events are open to middle and high school students and their families.

  • Bring your own laptop or request a provided device

  • No previous coding or Roblox Studio experience required

  Space is limited at each location.

  This is not your average coding workshop. It is a chance to build something real, meet other creators, and take the first step toward showcasing your work on a national stage.

• No Coding Experience? No Problem

  Students can work individually or team up with friends and no prior experience is necessary as our experts will guide you every step of the way. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop when possible, and devices will be available for students who need one.

• Already Building in Roblox? Take Your Skills Farther
  Build the Challenge is designed for students at every experience level. If you already know your way around Roblox Studio, you can move beyond the basics, develop a more advanced game concept, experiment with new features, or continue building an existing project. You will also have the chance to get feedback, connect with other creators, and explore how your work could become a strong Congressional App Challenge submission.
• Here's What You'll Leave With

  By the end of the event, students will have:

  • A Roblox project they have started building themselves
  • New skills in coding, game design, and creative problem-solving
  • An idea and roadmap for a Congressional App Challenge entry
  • A chance to connect with other young creators from across the region

   
• Wait, There’s Roblox Swag Too?
  Yes! Students may have the opportunity to receive Roblox swag and other giveaways during the event. Giveaways are available while supplies last and are not guaranteed for every participant.
• Parents and Guardians Are Invited
  While students build, parents and guardians are invited to participate in a concurrent information session covering Roblox, online safety, educational opportunities on the platform, and how to help a student take an App Challenge project from first idea to final submission.
